Refurbishing a cottage while retaining its character and charm
The existing cottage, a protected structure, had been extended substantially in the 1970’s and fallen into a poor state of disrepair. The new owners were committed to fully refurbishing the cottage with a new layout, but retaining its character and charm. The design included a modest extension and new kitchen and living space to the back of the house. A vernacular glass canopy roof was added to the rear terrace creating a unique external space linking the house into the garden.
