Ouvane

Posted on 18th April 2019

ouvane

sutton, Dublin

Ouvane is a trio of modern beach houses that have been built on the site of a 1960’s detached house.

The rear elevation has south facing views of Dublin bay, while the front elevation borders the main road to Howth Head. The houses have been clad in dark aluminium to protect them from the elements while cantilevers give privacy and protection from the sun. The rear elevation is predominately glazed to maximise the views over the bay, while the front elevation is more sculptural and gives privacy to the occupants from the main road. As projecting single storey element in white brick to the front elevation softens the house and aluminium cladding.
